Job Introduction:

The Finance Manager supports the objectives of Sales & Operational Planning and the Finance Function in-country. He/she must assist in providing business wide decision support and maintaining a strong control environment and ensure that design, governance and control testing targets are met. He/she reports to the Finance Director.

Role Responsibility:

Accounting and Management Reports:

 

  • Group Reporting through Business Planning and Consolidation Platform (BPC)
  • Preparation of monthly internal reports (Internal trade reviews)
  • Decision Support Analysis
  • Preparation of management reports at the request of management
  • Review and Approval of the general ledger journals and posting journals
  • Ensuring Correct accounting treatment of accounting entries in compliance with IFRS
  • Managing the month closing process
  • Review and authorisation of monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Liaising with external and internal auditors
  • Completion and submission of regional reports on request
  • Preparation of forecast
  • Management of Internal controls relating to the finance function

 

Accounts Payable:

 

  • Review and Approval of supplier reconciliations
  • Review of supplier payments
  • Authorisation of supplier and other third party payments
  • Maintaining relationship with key suppliers

 

Tax Compliance:

  • Managing the relationship with BURS (Tax authority)
  • Ensuring Compliance with tax laws
  • Review of VAT computation and authorisation
  • Manage fiscal tax risk in collaboration with the tax advisor

 

Credit Control:

  • Review and approval of credit notes raised by credit controllers
  • Assist Credit Controllers with managing key relationships
  • Review and approval of customer refunds
  • Assist Credit Control team in achieving their collection targets

 

Inventory:

  • Supervision of the inventory team

 

Other Duties:

  • Assist operations departments with any requests that they have
  • Perform other assignments as assigned by the Finance Director

 


The Ideal Candidate:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Qualifies Chartered Accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Minimum 5 years’ Senior management experience in Financial Accounting within a Multinational

Technical knowledge:

  • Strong IFRS and relevant tax legislation knowledge.
  • Pastel knowledge.
  • Conversant with Business Intelligence platforms (MIS, SQL, SAP)

 

Business related knowledge:

  • At least 6 years’ experience in an accounting and reporting environment.
  • Management Knowledge:
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work with people at various levels of the business
  • Good leadership and management skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Decision support experience
