Job Introduction:

General Manager

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company, has a vacancy for a General Manager, based at our regional offices in Durban (G4S East Coast Region).

Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the General Manager coordinates the provision of contractual and ad hoc security services to customers within the region, in compliance with legislation, Company policies and procedures, to ensure achievement of budgeted financial targets.

The successful incumbent is a self starter with a proven track record in delivering on customer expectations, demonstrates a high degree of commercial acumen and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Role Responsibility:

Effective management of the regional financial performance

  • Manage relationship between actual results, budgets and forecasts
  • Initiate cost saving model and controls
  • Gross Margin Management
  • Existing Revenue Growth
  • Manage the Region’s cash flow

Effective management staff  within region

  • Effective Organisation
  • Development
  • Leadership

Effective management of operations

  • Client retention and customer service levels
  • Quality Management/Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard
  • Shared Best Practice

Effective management of business development function

  • New business development
  • Competitors evaluations
  • Managing and shaping the external environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualifcation would be advantageous
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum of  5 years’ General Management experience with a customer service environment essential. Relevant industry experience advantageous
  • Sound commercial acumen
