Package Description: Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with the seniority of the role and in compliance with company remuneration policy and practice.

Job Introduction:

The Senior IT Field Engineer will be expected to manage and deliver significant IT projects and initiatives, interfacing with all interested parties, both internal and external.  The role will also encompass service delivery meetings with Senior Management and key 3rd parties as part of continued service improvements.

Role Responsibility:

IT Operations:

  • Provide line management responsibilities for 4 IT engineers including appraisals, absence management, performance management etc.

  • The Senior Field Engineer will excel in proactivity, service delivery, technical ability and mobility support.

  • Drive service excellence through ITIL based continuous improvement planning and regular stakeholder reviews.

  • Support and maintain local hardware infrastructure and desktop installation at all G4S office locations in geographical region, interfacing with wider internal teams where appropriate.

  • In conjunction with the IT Service Desk, act as an escalation point for all incidents and service request issues that need further investigation taking remedial action as necessary.

  • Areas of support would include:

    • Support for all existing IT related provided equipment such as PCs, Macs, printers, phones and tablets.

    • Attend weekly change advisory board.

    • Hold regular team meetings with IT field Engineers.

    • Hold regular meetings with G4S Management team at sites to ensure continued service improvement.

    • All software support requirements for standard office applications such as Microsoft Office as well as internal applications.

    • Hold regular workshops to encourage knowledge sharing and develop new IT initiatives.


The Ideal Candidate:

Knowledge:

  • Windows Server and VMWare system knowledge

  • WAN & LAN knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Desktop, Laptop, Server & Peripheral hardware

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office software & Google support.

Skills:

  • Excellent technical skills and the ability to interface with users at all levels.

  • Excellent communication skills, professional appearance and customer service skills required.

  • A motivated, proactive, innovative and committed individual is required to succeed in this role.

Minimum qualification/skills

  • MCSE

  • ITIL Certification

  • Google Admin and Google for Work experience advantageous

  • CCNA, HP Switching, Fortinet and/or VMWare certifications advantageous

  • Proficient in English and/or Portuguese advantageous

  • 5 years in IT Support
